When is the reunion? The reunion takes place on May 27th - that's the Sunday of the Memorial Day Weekend - from 8:00 am until 7:00 pm. In case of inclement weather, Monday the 28th is the alternate "rain date". Who's invited? Our Mandeville Family Reunion invites anyone who has ever lived in Mandeville, attended a Mandeville school, or worked in Mandeville to attend. If you share an appreciation and love for Mandeville, then please join the rest of us who share the common thread of realizing the treasure that Mandeville once was and still is today. Where will the reunion take place? The "Welcome Center" will be located in the Gazebo area, and a central stage will be set up for live musical performances at the foot of Coffee Street. Covered, comfort/cooling stations will also be strategically placed on the Lakefront in several locations. Although many reunion activities will be held on the lakefront, the entire City of Mandeville is participating. You will find different areas of the city hosting special activities. For example, businesses along the Girod/Lafitte St. corridor will be able to sell food outside their "normal" dining areas, and other participating area businesses will be promoting the event through "Reunion Specials" and discounts. Where do we park, and how do we get around? Shuttle services will transport event goers from the public parking areas on Lafitte and Girod streets to Lakeshore Drive. In addition, two shuttles will run on Lakeshore Drive throughout the day. Everyone is encouraged to drop off family members and picnic items at their selected locations, park their vehicle, then ride a shuttle back to the lakefront. (Click the map to enlarge.) We're coming from out of town - where can we stay? ...and dine? The City of Mandeville website has listed the links and contact information for several Mandeville-area Bed & Breakfasts, as well as a wide variety of local dining establishments. The St. Tammany Parish Tourist & Convention Commission website also lists accommodations in the area. If you plan to stay in a local hotel, please use the following link for your special 'Mandeville Reunion_2012' discount: CLICK FOR DISCOUNT PAGE The Louisiana Northshore website really does contain an abundance of other information. Be sure to check it out, too! Will there be vendors, or can we bring our own food? Like the "Days of Olde", the lakefront will be open for "Restrictive Picnicking" on our "Reunion Sunday". Everyone is not only invited, but encouraged to set up picnic areas for your Family, and either grill (gas only) or bring prepared food items. Ice chests with ANY beverage will be allowed. Please note: Due to the music stage and the food vendors in that area, personal tents and picnicking will be prohibited in the area from the Coffee Street bridge to Carroll Street. Be aware: No Glass containers, No Charcoal grills, No Boiling pots/fryers or ANY "open" flame operated food prep method. Please consider leaving your pet at home, for the safety and comfort of "Phideaux" as well as our reunion guests. The participating Lakefront Businesses are Barley Oaks, Lake House [featuring Nauny & Poppy's Sno-Balls outside], Donz, and Rips. The day's guest vendors on the Lakefront will be Louie & the Redhead Lady, and Bear's Grill & Spirits.
